Bringing in the Harvest
Goodyear have announced that, with the fruit and grape harvesting season not far away, it is launching its Optitrac DT812 DT818 in an expanded range of sizes.
OPTITRAC DT812 is a wide 70 series tyre and fits standard rims. With such confined spaces between trees and vines its narrow tyres allow for easy manoeuvring, its small diameter provides sufficient ground clearance but keeps vehicle height well below the branches and turning circles are kept to a minimum.
The OPTITRAC DT818 in 16, 18 and 20 inch sizes are unique in the tyre industry. The wider tyre’s design combined with smaller rim diameters offer options that can lower the tractor’s overall height and raise the load carrying capacity. Super-wide DT818 tyres also provide better stability, an advantage especially on hillsides.
The complete OPTITRAC DT812 and DT818 tyres have equivalent rolling circumferences and can easily be interchanged on a machine. Working well on soil types across Europe, the tyres provide even ground pressure distribution so water can be easily absorbed. The soil remains loose and aerated, providing the optimal conditions for root growth and resulting in a higher yield.
Ian Morgan, director of farm for Goodyear says: ‘With the launch of the new DT812 and DT818 sizes we now provide an even broader range of OPTITRAC tyres to meet every need for the orchard and vineyard. Our loyal customers now include not only individual farmers but also tractor and machinery manufacturers who have selected the OPTITRAC DT812 and DT818 tyres to be fitted as original equipment on their new vehicles.’
