New Management Structure at Yokohama
The news comes after Yokohama implemented organisational and personnel changes in order to vigorously promote more of the growth, globalisation and production innovation principals that are behind the company’s ‘Grand Design 10’ long-term strategic plan.
Yokohama plans to strengthen the tyre business’ overseas development by sectioning its tyre overseas business division into the new tyre overseas sales division and the existing tyre planning division. The tyre overseas sales division has been created to take responsibility for export sales and will be headed by corporate officer Takashi Fukui. This department will be divided into four further departments; two overseas sales divisions, an overseas technical services department and an overseas sales promotion and logistics department. These departments will be headed by Mikio Sano, Fumihiro Nishi, Atsunori Agari, and Hisao Hashimoto respectively.
The company also plans to strengthen its original equipment business response functions by creating a global overseas original equipment department within the OE tyre sales division. This will be headed by Keigo Ueda who will be promoted to director and senior managing corporate officer from his current role as general manager, OE tyre sales department number two.
In addition, the overseas original equipment tyre engineering department will be created under tyre technical division which is headed by managing corporate officer, Takashi Yamashita.
