Dr Karl-Thomas Neumann to be proposed to Conti Supervisory Board
The chairman’s committee of the supervisory board will propose Dr Karl-Thomas Neumann for the executive board of Continenal AG. Dr Neumann is currently head of the Electrics and Electronics unit of the Volkswagen group. In this position he has group-wide responsibility for electronics.
According to the company, Dr Neumann will take charge of Continental Automotive Systems (CAS) at the earliest possible date.
With an excellent background in electronics, and especially with the recently gained knowledge of the mechatronics segment, Dr Neumann will be highly valued at CAS.
When he starts, Dr Neumann will succeed Dr Wolfgang Ziebart, who will leave the executive board on 31 August in order to assume the position of CEO at Infineon AG.
Dr Karl-Thomas Neuman holds a doctorate in electrical engineering and joined Volkswagen AG in 1999 after working at Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits and Systems from 1989 to 1993. Between 1993 and 1999 Dr Neumann was at Motorola GmbH.
CAS has a workforce of just under 20,000 and reported sales of over 4.6 billion euros in 2003.
