Beijing Boom Receives First Shipment of SmarTire for Buses
Chinese distributor, Beijing Boom Technology, has received its first volume shipment of 100 ‘SmarTire for Buses’ systems. The tyre monitoring systems will be marketed to tourism and public system bus operators in China.
The company’s new systems incorporate high-pressure transmitters, an improved receiver and a graphic display mounted in view of the driver. The technology monitors both tyre pressure and temperature, warning the driver if a tyre is under-inflated, loses pressure while driving or if the tyre temperature rises abnormally. SmarTire believes this tyre information “is critical for the safe operation of the bus and helps maximize tyre life and fuel economy as well as reduce the risk of downtime due to a tyre failure.”
Cai Jian Ming, president of Beijing Boom Technology commented: “Buses are the main form of mass transportation in China, and safety is very important to any driver or fleet operator.” “We are excited to be expanding our SmarTire product line and to be taking the lead in introducing this important technology to the bus market in China.”
“Our relationship with Beijing Boom continues to grow and we are very pleased to see them expanding into the important bus market in China,” added John Taylor-Wilson, VP sales and marketing for SmarTire. “SmarTire for Buses offers tourism and public transportation bus operators a critical new system to increase their operating efficiency while increasing safety for their customers.”
