SmarTire Secures $5 Million Bus Order

SmarTire Systems Inc., in conjunction with is master distributor in China, Beijing Boom Technology Co. Ltd., closed a deal to supply the Taiwanese tour bus industry.

The announcement on 14 June represents SmarTire for Buses’ first major order. The deal, which is valued at around $5 million includes the implementation of the company’s tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) over the course of the next year.

“This Taiwanese order reflects the high level of importance being placed on tire safety by bus operators especially within the tourist industry, which we believe will result in greater demand for TPMS. The sale represents our first significant order for SmarTire’s high pressure TPMS for commercial vehicle applications and demonstrates that we are receiving recognition in this major market with our SmarTire for Buses solution,” said John Taylor-Wilson, VP sales and marketing, SmarTire Systems.
