Reifen 2004 the Most International Yet
This year’s Reifen 2004 exhibition was the most international yet. Exhibitors and visitors alike are already looking forward to the next show, which will take place from 23 to 26 May 2006.
The bi-annual show set a new exhibitor record of 413 companies from 41 countries and saw the proportion of international visitors climb to nearly 50%. The total number of specialized visitors also grew to 15,800, a slight improvement on the last exhibition.
The majority of international visitors (70%) came from European countries. Eastern Asian visitors accounted for 9.3% and there were significant contingents from Africa (7.1%) and South and Central America (4.9%).
In an interview given to Tyre’s and Accessories’ sister magazine, Essen show organizer Dr. Joachim Hennek described the show as being in “pole position” and was “unique in the world.” He said that that competitors would find it difficult to compete and that the show’s progress was “thanks to stronger internationalization.”
The increased interest in the show is also reflected in the business results estimated by the visitors. Nearly two thirds of visitors estimate that the show was favourable or very favourable for business. More than half expect increased business as a result of the show and 36% per cent believe that their business will grow consistently after the show.
The future looks bright for the Essen show, as 90% of exhibitors have already decided to return. Tyres and Accessories will certainly be there to cover future events.
