Hayes Lemmerz International Reports Strong Operating Profit
Hayes Lemmerz International has reported an operating profit of 62.0 million US dollars for the fiscal year ended January 31, 2004, compared with an operating loss of 0.3 million US dollars in the previous period.
Earnings from operations excluding the impact of certain gains and expenses related to the emergence from Chapter 11 was 43.9 million US dollars for 2003, compared to 44.2 million US dollars in 2002.
Gross profit margin increased to 10.7 per cent from 10.4 per cent.
Sales for 2003 were 2.1 billion US dollars, an increase of approximately 3 per cent over 2002 sales..
