Cooper Tire Motorsports brings Mickey Thompson Tyres to the UK

In the sport of drag racing Mickey Thompson Drag Tyres are a force to be reckoned with in the United States. Now, through Cooper Tire Motorsports, Mickey Thompson drag tyres will be available from Avon Tyres Racing and three specialist distributors in the UK.

During 2003, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company created Cooper Tire Motorsports which includes Avon Tyres Racing, Mickey Thompson Racing and the newly established Cooper Tire Racing programs. This combination strengthens Cooper’s racing program globally.

Cooper-Avon Tyres’ Motorsport Director, Julian Baldwin, commented “By keeping stock in the UK we will be able to provide a fast and efficient service to our customers, which is something Avon Tyres Racing has always prided itself on. It will also give us a tremendous advantage over our competitors who don’t stock their full ranges in the UK.”

The range of Mickey Thompson (M/T) drag tyres includes the ET Drag, a proven winner with a maximum traction compound and engineered for consistent performance, the ET Front with an ultra-lightweight design to reduce rolling resistance, the ET Street and the record breaking Motorcycle Series.

The full range of Mickey Thompson drag tyres will be available through LA Racing Parts, Webster Race Engineering and Andy Robinson Race Cars. In addition to availability of product, Avon Tyres Racing will also be offering a contingency programme to race participants.

For more than 40 years Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels has been the innovator in street, strip, truck and off-road tyres for the extreme automotive enthusiast. Last year 33 World and National Championships were won on M/T drag slicks and M/T racers set five world records.
