Fire At Thai Goodyear Plant
A fire that started early Wednesday at a tire factory owned by Goodyear (Thailand) PCL damaged a raw material warehouse, but other operations weren’t affected, a policeman told Dow Jones Newswires. The plant is situated in Pathumthani province, adjacent to Bangkok. The fire started around 2 a.m. local time and was brought under control in about an hour, said Pol. Maj. Vichien Kongbumpen according to Yahoo!Finance.
It damaged a building containing rubber sheets and other raw materials, Vichien said. It wasn’t clear whether all the rubber was destroyed. The policeman added that the fire hadn’t extended to other parts of the factory. The damage caused by the fire hasn’t yet been assessed, Vichien added.
