Federal-Mogul Opens Technical Training Institute in Germany
Federal-Mogul Corporation has opened a training centre and three satellite learning facilities at manufacturing locations in Germany for aftermarket employees and customers. The Technical Training Institute (TTI) is part of an aftermarket initiative designed to improve learning for Federal-Mogul employees as well as customers, including distributors, engine rebuilders and sales representatives. The institute offers three levels of classes and seminars – from basic to advanced. The objective is to improve participants’ knowledge of products and their functions, technical issues, warranty and quality issues.
“This is a very exciting development in our effort to increase our own employees’ knowledge and better serve our customers,” says TTI Manager Udo Quambusch. “The TTI is designed to ensure that skills and knowledge keep pace with the development of products and the manufacturing processes behind them, as well as the expertise needed to service these products and our customers’ developing requirements.”
“We always adapt our training to customers’ needs,” Quambusch said. “If the audience is engine rebuilders, the material we cover is more technical. If the audience is sales representatives, the main focus is on sales strategies.”
Next year, the TTI curriculum will be expanded to allow participants to learn about friction and ignition arts. Classes will be held year-round and are currently scheduled until the end of January 2004.
