Beru increases TSS sales by 77.5 %
In the first six months of the business year (1st April – 30th September 2003), the German Beru Aktiengesellschaft, Ludwigsburg, increased its consolidated sales by 9.6 per cent from 140.3 million Euro to 153.8 million Euro. The company recorded EBIT (before one-offs) of 24.4 million Euro in the first six months, compared with 20.4 million Euro for the same period of the previous year. The newest division — Electronics and Sensor Technology posted the highest growth.
In this division, Beru recorded a 22.9 per cent increase to 35.9 million Euro compared with 29.2 million Euro in the previous year. The company expanded its sales of electronic tyre pressure monitoring systems (TSS; Tire Safety System) by 77.5 per cent totalling 14.2 million Euro (PY: 8.0). Developments in the Group’s newest division were thus pleasing. Higher take rates of the tyre pressure monitoring systems in the upper mid-class and premium class have continued to rise. Increasing deliveries to VW and Porsche for the new Touareg and Cayenne models also had a positive impact on sales trend.
