Modernization Cordenka Converting Plant In Obernburg Completed
The plant is part of Cordenka’s production facilities in Obernburg, which also include the spinning operations of the company’s industrial rayon filament yarn. The productsare processed according to customer specifications. The strategy enables tire manufacturers to procure products from basic yarn to finished cord fabric from a single source.
The completed modernization involves all converting facilities such as twisting, weaving and dipping. Twisting equipment includes Saurer-Allma direct cabling machines with which outstanding runability and efficiency can be achieved. Yarn counts range from dtex 1100 to dtex 3680 with double and triple ply constructions.
The weaving department, equipped to weave from beams and creels, employs Sulzer-Rüti machines with projectile weft insertion, and Dornier airjet looms.A computer-operated dipping unit dips the cord fabric. The unit is designed to efficiently accommodate all tire manufacturer dipping requirements.
The improved surface-winder allows longer lengths of cord fabric to be processed. Besides Cordenka industrial rayon filament, the Obernburg converting plant also processes polyester yarns on a commission basis. Cordenka is a leading producer of industrial rayon filamentyarns, marketed worldwide under the brand name Cordenka, for use as reinforcement for high-performance tires and mechanical rubber goods applications.
