Marangoni begins pre-cure rubber production in Brazil

Marangoni S.p.A. has started production of pre-cured tread rubber at Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in response to rising demand for retreaded tyres in this market. The purpose designed, 14,000-square foot plant cost Marangoni around 13 million euros to build and equip.

The new facility will initially have a workforce of 60, but Marangoni says this should rise to 140 over time. The company expects the new venture will generate sales of 6.1 million euros in the first full year of operation, rising to 25.6 million euros within four years.
