17th July 2024The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has announced that comedian and television presenter Dara O Briain will headline the 2024 IAAF Awards Dinner. The event is scheduled for 5 December 2024 at the DoubleTree Hilton in Milton Keynes.

Yokohama Rubber acquiring Goodyear OTR business
22nd July 2024A week and a half after confirming its interest in acquiring The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s Off-the-Road (OTR) tyre business, The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. has announced that it has entered into a purchase agreement valued at US$905 million in cash. Completion of the acquisition is conditional on the usual regulatory approvals and is expected to close by early 2025.

Yokohama Rubber acquiring Goodyear OTR business
A week and a half after confirming its interest in acquiring The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s Off-the-Road (OTR) tyre business, The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. has announced that it has entered into a purchase agreement valued at US$905 million in cash. Completion of the acquisition is conditional on the usual regulatory approvals and is expected to close by early 2025.

Faced with limited insight into the performance of its tyre manufacturing equipment, Apollo Tyres recently sought an Internet of Things (IoT) solution that would digitalise and standardise its manufacturing processes. It approached Deloitte, who worked with the tyre maker to implement such a solution on Amazon Web Services (AWS), connecting production equipment to a data lake. The result was a 9% increase in productivity on primary equipment and 3% reduction in energy usage.

At the start of July, Russian tyre maker JSC Cordiant announced completing rebranding of the former Continental tyre plant in Kaluga. The facility is now producing Gislaved tyres, thanks to a brand rights deal negotiated with Continental in May 2023.
