Sentaida International to Build New Factory in China
Just under a year after Chinese company Sentaida International bought US UHP tyre wholesale specialist Zisser Tire Wholesale, company representatives have told Tyres & Accessories that Sentaida is two-thirds of the way through constructing a new “state of the art” tyre manufacturing facility. The first phase of tyre production is scheduled to start in 2009 when the company will make between 2 and 3 million passenger car ultra high performance tyres. When construction is completed and production is fully ramped up (sometime around 2013) the factory is expected to output approximately 10 million units annually.
The new factory is being billed as state of the art, with company representatives describing it as “very advanced” and among the most modern in China. In real terms this means installation of some of the latest western tyre building machinery, such as a dozen of the latest VMI tyre builders and ex-Bridgestone and Goodyear staff being brought in to oversee the installation project.
